Mother knows best?

What does our mother mean to us? Biological mother vs the person who takes care of us, who we can count on?

František Balog, the founder of Actor Theatre in Kassa grew up in a foster home. When he first talked to her mother, he was an adult. What was his first impression like and how did that change throughout the conversation? What were their very first questions? What did František inherit from her? Watch this scene and you’ll learn!

The protagonist of the play is a Roma boy who tells about his life recalling funny episodes from his childhood, adolescence and adulthood, showing the process of how he became part of mainstream society. He impersonates nine characters who all had a huge impact on what direction his life took.

The play was presented with the support of Visegrád Fund and Slovakian Cultural Institute. The show was hosted by RS9 Theatre.

The play of Giuvlipen Company from Bucharest is based on a real story; it presents the struggle of the girl, that results in suicide, from various perspectives, raising the validity of different approaches and at the same time pointing out collective responsibility that no one can escape.
